I (Brooke) picked the theme of Relationships for the month of February (in honor of Valentine’s Day.)
When I was in my early 20’s, I frequented a store, just like Serenity Now, that was near the University I was attending. I would go in and take classes, have readings, buy books and stones and candles (talk about what goes around comes around!).
I was single and found myself ready to let a significant other into my life. Even in college, I did not frequent the “bar scene”. I don’t think on-line dating had been invented back then.
So, I found myself in a quandary.
Then it came to me: I had been reading and learning all these things about manifesting our desires. Why couldn’t I apply the principles I had learned to find my divine right partner?!
One of the things the books mentioned, was that we need to “make room” for the new things we want to bring into our lives. Another book noted that “the universe abhors a vacuum”.
I started with a closet. There were things that could be donated, thrown away or recycled. I spent a few hours cleaning this closet. The secret was that I was consciously making room for this man to be brought into my life. I made up affirmations as I was doing the work and actually was enjoying myself.
Then I sat down and made a list of what I was looking for. I was very specific; things like for his sun sign to be Scorpio, and for him to live a couple of hours away (at the time, I lived in Ft. Myers.) I wanted to have fun. I did not want my life to be turned upside down.
I completed the list, and knew the Universe would provide what I had asked for or something better!
Two days later (I kid you not), I stopped in a Deli, two doors down from the flower shop where I was working. I would usually order a sandwich or salad and take it home with me. On this particular day, I walked in to pick up my salad, and there he was, sitting at the booth not more than a few feet from me.
When I saw him, I knew it was the person for whom I had prayed! We were the only two people in the deli (except for the owner behind the counter.) I immediately changed my order from “to go” to “eat in”, and sat at a table close by. Part of me wanted to join him at his booth and say, “I have been expecting you.”
The owner of the deli and I started talking, and, after a while, the man joined in our conversation. During our discussion, I found out that he was a Scorpio, and lived in Tampa (which is a couple of hours from Ft Myers.) However, he did travel 2 or 3 times a week to Ft. Myers for business. Before we were done with our salads, he had asked for my phone # and we started dating a few days later.
When I got home, I was able to put a check by every one of the items on my list!
I share this story specifically for those looking for a new beloved.
